Let me make it super clear:

Right now BattleRap as a whole is at the crossroads, I don't need to explain that, I think, it is pretty clear. Look at every league. A few battles left to make and thats it, maybe a few more rematches if that, and then what? A recent match between 2 of top 5 mc's attracted 200 people. Do you think the cultcha will sustain itself? The answer is a big NO. It has to take some new direction.

NO ONE is proposing any new directions.

What are we waiting for?

-it came about organically (NPI) mostly shaped by the ignorance of its environment. look at instagram: you start posting photos of your unique vision, but certain photos start getting more likes than others, so you adjust. You start making only those types of photos, so you get more likes, and so on until you are trapped in a circle with no originality left anywhere in sight. And when someone posts something original - OMG KILL IT WITH FIRE, ARGGGG DISGUSTING, GET HIM THE FUCK OUTTA HERE.

- You dont have to insult your opponent to "beat" him metaphorically, you can just show that your skill and originality is superior. That's what day has been doing with his antics. Lux too, with his approach. You are just a kid who doesnt get it, yet.

Battle rap is definitely about the war going on in the streets and the kill or be killed nature that is too raw for tv.

Which is why it was never meant for other cultures besides the real street niggas who never had an outlet but there is always culture vultures for when something gets popular so there were other leagues created that was strictly rap only because they couldn't (relate) to the shoot em up style of battle rap.

Showing off skill and originality by doing what?? oh yeah insulting your opponents skill.

And don't try to dismiss what I'm saying by calling me a kid. I post clear enough for you to understand me which shows I'm not a fucking kid you hippie.

Anyways I have read all of your post and I get where you trying to go with it, but I gurantee if you make a poll of who wants to see this battle. Over half will not want to see it just because of Daylyt.

It's not an event to end it all, it's a first of its kind to show the whole world where creativity can take us. You can have any match up you want, you want Head Ice vs Uno Lavoz? Let's go. They have to conceptualize their acts, plan them out, and work on the presentation that is beyond simple rhymes, they get their crews involved, they make an EVENT out of it, it is filmed too, don't forget. UNLIMITED POTENTIAL. That kind of creative freedom will sustain itself for hundreds if not thousands of years. Battle rap in its present form just cant. Read my post above.

Daylyt is the only natural genius in battle rap, Lux has work ethic and erudition but he is no genius. Daylyt already did more for battle rap than all the rappers of all leagues combined and it's only the beginning. Y'all cant see further than your own noses.

If any forum regular wants to contribute but doesn't know how: you can tweet the link to this thread to Day, Lux, Smack, Kotd, anyone in battle rap really and ask what they think about it. As soon as more than one person does it - the ball will get rolling, it really is up to you, to push battle rap into something much bigger, much more positive and definitely much more sustainable.

I invite everyone to check out ticket prices to broadway shows. Check out different sections, prices for the weekends, etc. You see Puffy throwing 10k to a winner of a battle and you drool, the world just came to an end when in reality Puffy goes to a restaurant with some escort and to see a show and it costs more than that. So you know, you get back what you invest. If you give all the money to Lux then just have an empty stage with a few trannies on it and charge people 200 for it, good luck sustaining that. And when the opportunity came and big heads gave money and made a big promo for a big battle - SUPER EMPTY STAGE (budden, mook), no production, same one fish two fish nursery rhymes - bwa bwaaa bwaaaaa sad trombone - FAIL. Daylight brought you the Matrix on stage for 500$.. imagine what he would do with 10k in budget. You all know Im right, come on fam.
