A lot of people can control their dreams, it's called lucid dreaming. On topic, there were definitely some dreams I woke up from that bummed me out were just dreams, but don't think I'd want to be permanently asleep.

if i could have full control of my dreams would create ultra dream paradise and live out every fantasy and live forever and then never wake up and pretty much be god in my own little dream reality

so the question is would you rather be a measly human or super god?

The ego is attached to the mind. By having an ego people either live in the past or future which is why some people love their dreams because it is an unfulfilled life that their ego wants to live.

Be more consciously aware of your thoughts and your attachment to them will eventually break. That way you can be happy for what you are in the present moment and won't need to rely on dreams to make you fulfilled.
