If you have a fighter back against the cage, you might believe you have "control" of the situation plus striking becomes much easier since they can't back up. Most of Woodley's KOs came when his back was against the cage IIRC.
I am personally not a fan of this style solely because fighters have already figured it out. Rory's fight (not that action pack) is a good demonstration on how to take away all of woodley's weapons.
