There used to be 4-5 hour events every New Years Eve that started around 2AM and I would come home drunk and watch them shits.

GP multi fight in a night tourneys to see who actually the baddest mf on a given night.

No stupid athletic commissions to interfere with steroid use and no one ever got tired. Even with 10 minute first rounds. They could pair anyone they wanted. Sakuraba Vs. Cro Cop? Sure. Sakuraba Vs. Gracie for an hour and a half with no decision possible. Then Saku fights the best Heavy Weight in the world at the time for 15:00 the same night.

Athletic commission why UFC sucks balls.

Shit was incredible when it was happening. Cross promotion with K-1. Bringing UFC fighters over. And it will never happen again. I read a story saying Pride was just a Yakuza front. They would dump hundreds of thousands of dollars into it with no chance to recoup just to launder money.

it can be entertaining but a majority of the fighters are marginal talent and maximum hype. its mostly for the extreme mountain dew bra crowd
