  • Battle Rappers Who Push This Shit Forward

Not even saying they are the most skilled, just the guys who are clearly passionate and push this shit forward. You don't even have to like the motherfucker, but you have to respect them.

DNA - down to freestyle any-fucking-body, down to battle anybody.
Danny Myers - willing to put his money where his mouth is, down to fucking phone battle no-names for his respect.
Diz - pushing shit forward with Canibus/Cassidy.

I don't care what motherfuckers did 10 years ago, this thread isn't for the people holding out for 6 figures, it's for the motherfuckers who push this shit and move the culture forward TODAY.

    Who else?

I don't get how battling once a week equals "pushing the culture forward"

I guess they bring ticket sales in, but overall they're just milking the game and contributing nothing of any real artistic merit

                  Focusing on the art form..

Danny Myers.. Daylyt.. Diz.. Carter Deems.. Bigg K.. Gjonaj

If it wasn't for the first 3, there wouldn't be much west coast stuff going on like there is. There definitely wouldn't be any B-Dot's. Carter Deems has an entire lane to himself right now, with guys like E Farrell doing similar stuff but not as original as Deems'. Bigg K notable because he keeps pushing without a deal with anybody. And Gjonaj because of his writing. And while we're talking writing, throw JC in there too. Those are two damn good writers who really rely on their written material.
