Oakland, CA – July 17, 2014 — (OTBVA) – KING OF THE DOT (KOTD)
95 countries. 3 days, 130 battles. The biggest battle rap event of all time. Faggots from all over the world (including Africa, Manila, Iraq, Scotland ect) flying to Canada to recite man poems in front of a cpl hundred fans has been a Canadian tradition for years.
But 2014 is a new day. Only mere weeks away, and without any notice, it appears the once heralded "Olympics of battle rap", World Domination 9, has been cancelled. As KOTD continues attempts to shed its image as a Canadian battle league and pursue its mission to become more popular by capitalizing on the failing "SMACK URL" brand, the incentive to carry on tradition has vanished.
"We just couldn't get enough American SMACK rappers into Canada to make this worth our while" said Organik, founder of KOTD. "The youtube views aint there, the paper views aint sellin nawmsayin, We highly professional, we couldn't have 3/4 of the American battlers get denied access...its bad for the culture."
With only one remaining active Canadian battle rapper, and since DontFlop dont fuck with them, who can really blame them? Who really wants to see that shit anyways?
