Tyler the Creator in my opinon plays off shock value and the shit he says isn't really even that shocking. Just some shit about raping a bitch and being homo with Satan. Earl Sweatshirt went hard on that one song with the death juice though. But yeah, you're definitely right, FV shits on OF nastily.

Way more depth to his lyrics than shock value and he's made some great beats (the beat for french is crazy). Earl's entire album is dope as fuck.

Odd Future as a whole is pretty talented, but there are obviously a few stand out dudes.

Someone said they're one hit wonders tho, definitely not since they already have mad songs on you-tube with millions of views.
