when i was young, there was a few times that i found 10's or 5's, but one time when i was 12, i found a 100 dollar bill at the gas station, and i turned it in. $100 is a lot to lose. it could be someones groceries for the week or something.

The only way id keep a wallet or reasonable amount of cash i found would be if i knew the person and hated them or something along them lines.
