How to start a text battle?

I ma pretty new here and I wanted to get into text battling. What are the general rule you follow and the general way you write the bars out. I have too many things in my head that I need to get on paper.

call out some1 by making a thread or make an open challenge. ull get a challenger and then its bars vs bars
