I think his robotic like nature of switching from offense to defense prevented him from being an all time great.

I didnt watch his earlier matches when he had hair, but i agree. Id like to add the mayweather match, it showed he had a solid understanding of fundamentals.

Even the pacquiao destruction showed he had a different set of fundamentals. Cotto is a great with only one outstanding weapon, the left hook. He adapted to his environment with the shotgun jab & things like ring awareness.

His highest points were clearly the Mosley fight and the 2 Margarito fights.

He stood his ground against Floyd and Canelo but I dont think either fights were that close or what he'll be remembered for outside of them being the biggest names.

Good career....

Didnt expect much for his last fight...most fighters are forced into retirement cuz they lost it. Very few go out near the top of his game like a Mayweather.

Should be entertaining though.

Cotto’s “retirement” match. Rarely does a boxer retire on top (think finito lopez, mayweather, marciano) but i think cotto has the tempermant to retire when he says he will. Card is on now, HBO.
