  • NBA NBA OFFSEASON THREAD 2015

It's that time of the year again!

The Golden State Warriors have won their second NBA Championship after 40 years backed the efforts of the reigning season MVP Steph Curry and Finals MVP Andre Iguodala.

After a valiant effort, LeBron James came up short in his fifth consecutive trip to the Finals with an injury-laden roster and a good-for-nothing 'yes-man' coach. James's quest for his third NBA Championship lies in the moves that the Cavs will take this offseason..

Who will win during the offseason? Which moves will flop and send supposed-to-be contenders into doom? Who will take a gamble and cash in to unseat the champs next season?

Will the New York Knicks stay losing? Will the Lakers find a young cornerstone to start the rebuilding? Will Lebron fags find another excuse when the Cavs make a wrong move in the coming weeks?

Wade, Lakers Reportedly Have Mutual Interest

Mannix elaborated on the possible fit, tweeting: "Hard to see L.A. offering Wade a better chance to win than Miami, especially in the West. But it is L.A., and they do have money to burn.""While many execs still see Wade/Heat as contract saber rattling, a Wade option will be the Lakers. Mutual interest, per league sources," Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated reported.

Heat to Offer Dragic Long-Term Deal

ESPN's Marc Stein reported the Heat are preparing to offer Dragic a five-year deal worth more than $80 million to stay in Miami. Stein reported that while the Heat could theoretically offer Dragic a deal worth up to $100 million over five years, the impending free agency of Dwyane Wade and Luol Deng could impact how much they're willing to spend.

Spurs Aim to Save Cap Space with Duncan Extension

There are several NBA player personnel executives who believe the Spurs will offer Duncan a two-year contract that begins between $6 million and $7 million, with a partial guarantee and a player option in the second season.

If Duncan doesn't exercise the option, he gets, say, 50 percent of that season's salary. In effect, his salary for next season would remain over $10 million, the partially guaranteed portion of the second season’s salary remaining on the Spurs team salary after the cap explodes with the NBA's new TV money kicking in for 2016-17.

Cavs look to upgrade by shopping Brendan Haywood, draft pick

                    From Brian Windhorst:

Days after the end of the Finals, the Cleveland Cavaliers are working on upgrading their roster by shopping the potentially valuable contract of Brendan Haywood, and -- in some cases -- offering it along with the 24th overall pick in Thursday's draft, sources told ESPN.com.

Haywood's $10.5 million contract is not guaranteed for next season if he's waived by Aug. 2. This could be attractive to a team looking to either offload salary now or use it as part of another deal that could be executed during free agency in July.

                        Heat, Spurs and Rockets

                        I think will be winners

I don't think Monroe will be stay in Detroit because he doesn't fit their system

Monroe to NY with Melo and the number 4 pick if they don't trade it away would be atleast a number 6 or 7 team in east

Paul Pierce will choose Wizards or Clippers in free agency, per report

Paul Pierce is currently contemplating whether he will accept or decline a $5.5 million player option with the Wizards for next season. The 38-year-old has decided to play next season, but his decision -- which he has to make by the end of the month -- will determine what uniform he'll be in.

The Wizards and the Clippers are the only two teams the 38-year-old is considering, according to the Washington Post. If Pierce opts out, he would sign in Los Angeles for the mini-midlevel exception worth $3.4 million.

The Clippers traded for Lance Stephenson on Monday, but they are still looking for ways to add to their roster.
