i for 1 condone in it n hav 0 clue why teams compete if theyre not in a position to win a championship just for the sake of making a first round exit in the playoffs or barely missing out
Tanking is pointless as far as I'm concerned. Making the play-offs gains experience for the team and money to the investors and the city. Also, the first round picks that Philly and Minnesota have been getting will end up bolting for bigger markets. Not many Iverson's and Durant's that will stay loyal to a city they have no affiliation with. The two mentioned also never brought rings to the franchise. Dirk barely squeaked away with one.
Great teams are acquired and built. One first round pick will never win a ring. Great management, a smart coach, two to three stars and good rotation / bench wins rings. Also, being a marketable franchise to free agents is a big plus.
if the city cant attract free agents in the first place the only way they can look to build is through the draft imo, you'll always have people going towards bigger markets but atleast this way you have a chance for them to be a part of the organization first
i like what philly is doing by sacrificing success right now for a dynastic future, they'll have a stacked team based on draft picks, atleast for the first year & if they do well, no player is going to a leave a team thats loaded with talent
doesnt matter how much experience you get in the playoffs if u keep losing in the second or first round cus ur team isnt built to beat the top seeded teams i.e portland
they met to discuss ways to eliminate it last season, hopefully they give all lottery teams the same chance of getting the #1 pick and dont give the worse teams more balls nh
another way to get rid of nba purgatory (which theyll never do) is to have a best of 3 and best of 5 for the 1st two series, would be a lot more upsets. better teams win best of 7 90% of the time

i don't agree with tanking but i'll have to wait and see
Philly and the Timberwolves will be monsters in the next 2 years
The Knicks tanked but the lottery needs to be changed
nah philly needs like 5 more imo, minnesota is bout to make some noise next yr tho too bad theyre in the west
bucks also on the come up assuming they stay healthy
knicks situation is hilarious tho, they tanked but won the only game they needed to lose n lost out on the best 3 guaranteed players, now theyre gonna b stuck takin a chance which they will inevitably fuck up cus its the knicks
also no way in hell r the kings gonna trade franchise cornerstone in Cousins for the 4th pick
