Premier Boxing Champions returns to NBC tonight at 8:30 pm EST at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. Since it's inception, this particular card was the one I was most excited about. The opening bout has two talented power punchers & the main event features the king of a talented 140 lb division.
Peter Quillin, 31-0 22 KOs, vs Andy Lee, 34-2 24 KOs. The Irishman comes in with a belt, a good jab, and one hitter quitter power in his right. Peep his last two fights to see how devastating it is. Quillin's a talented guy but doesn't maintain a good workrate. Also, his last fight was almost a year ago & he wasnt able to make weight(160).
Lamont Peterson, 33-2-1 17 KOs, vs Danny Garcia, 29-0 17 KOs. Lamont is a tough dude and a really good inside fighter, but hes not on that level that Garcia is at. Also, he's been popped for synthetic tes & Lucas Matthysee destroyed him a couple years ago. Garcia has good power in his left hook, great timing, & will probably counter Lamont with it all night.
Roman Martinez, 28-2-2 17 KOs vs Orlando Salido, 42-12-2 29 KOs is also showing tonight, though its on PPV. Never seen Martinez fight, but I'm confident Salido's gonna bring back another scalp from enemy territory, as this fight is being held on Puerto Rican soil. Dont let those 12 KOs fool you, Salido turned pro as a growing teen, came up the hard way, and is a better boxer for it.
