I've never paid more than $250 for a laptop and still using a 6 year old one that's plenty good for what I use it for.

i think ur settin urself 4 a fall if u wanna buy a cheap laptop to game

no doubt that PCs are better for gaming but only if u invest in em. For that price u may as well jus get a console... just m.o tho..

no lie i didnt even think about what practical uses. i guess i just wanted a new computer which didnt have to be a laptop lol guess either a ps4 or a new pc either way 5 bills need to be spent before i just spend it on something dumb

you can build urself a 500$ computer that will be able to play the newest games for the next 5 years + (same games u see on ps4s and xb1s etc)

Shit goes together like legos, u can get a wireless mouse/keyboard combo for 10$ if u want cheap and 20$ if u want serviceable.

If you have a flat screen tv or an old monitor already and can plug right into that.

If you know someone who works at best buy they got registration codes for any software you might want.
Or some colleges have dreamspark through Microsoft where you get all kinds of free downloadable software.
Might have to be in a tech or engineering program though.
I shared my login with 3 people and they all got newest windows for free with no problems.

building your own pc would be the smartest move if you have the time and patience to find all the parts you need online. you can also find starter type guides on building a pc that will tell you find based off your price point and then it recommends affordable parts.

If not then id still go for buying a pc over a laptop bc laptops are more pricey based on there mobility and size. If youre not in a rush id just keep checking a couple PC website once a week and find the best sale you can.
