Funk Volume Records (from Los Angeles) was my favorite rap music label for years. Co-founded by rapper Hopsin and Damien “Dame” Ritter in 2009, the label was responsible for amazing rap music day after day, month after month, and year after year. Featuring a variety of rappers with different styles, personalities, and messages, the label was responsible for producing great rap music in a time when most rap music was centred on $wag and codeine cough syrup.
The label featured three mainstay artists who rapped with radically different styles about radically different things.
